The Chevy Volt and 2013 Malibu have been given the highest safety awards, both receiving 5 Stars. Similar to the U.S. rankings, the European ratings provide valuable information for potential buyers. “The results confirm that both vehicles meet today’s highest safety standards,” said Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe. The Volt is the only EV to receive a 5 Star safety rating in Europe.

The total mileage for the trip was 692 miles and the car performed great through stormy weather the whole way. The Volt got 39.3 mpg on the trip and gas was a total cost of $52.79. The electricity only cost about $1.21. The Volt starting retail is at $40,280, and is eligible for a $7,500 tax credit.
